About Summit Pines

Summit Pines is a community nestled into scenic parkland perched along Heterocera's volcanic rim, spanning the Deltote and Nitida regions. • Majestic views of the surrounding Heterocera landscape
  • Multiple waterfalls cascading through the valley
  • Winding carting trails through Rattlesnek Pass
  • Jema Mine - a recently reopened lava tube cave system
  • The famous Summit Pines donut shop
  • Sugar Stop service station for travelers
  • The Second Life Railroad (SLRR) passes through on the East side, featuring a historic aqueduct and a walkable bridge
  • The Great Wall (accessible via Route 6 South)

A Community in the Mountains

Established at the intersection of historic Route 6 and Summit Ridge Trail in Deltote Region, Summit Pines has for years served as a waypoint for travelers exploring Heterocera. The region hosts various enterprises and community spaces, from residential rentals to specialized processing facilities.

Our location on the volcanic rim provides unique geological features, including Jema Mine. The mine's lava tube system was rediscovered in 2024 after being sealed for decades. Local geologists suggest the caves were extensively used in the past, though records from that period are... incomplete.

Historic Routes & Trails

Summit Ridge Trail serves as the main north-south artery through the Deltote and Nitida regions. From here, several dramatic routes branch off:

  • Rattlesnek Pass - The scenic carting route through our valley, popular with caravans
  • Dead Horse Drop - A nearly vertical wooden cart path offering a thrilling but safe descent Despite the ominous name, the path is perfectly safe for experienced carters. The name's origin remains... disputed.
  • Jema Mine Wash - A dramatic road beginning with a near-vertical descent down the mountain cliff
  • Route 6 - Historic route passing through Summit Pines, leads south to The Great Wall

Some older maps from 1947 show different trail configurations. Records from that period are unfortunately incomplete.

The rules are pretty simple. Be respectful, tolerant, and kind to each other.

We sincerely wish for Summit Pines Stockyard to be a safe place to explore your interests with others and hope you feel at home while staying here. To that end, we have very few but very important rules.

Access & Age

  • Upper areas should only be accessed via teleporters which require the Summit Pines experience to be accepted.
  • The age of consent is 18 years of age or older regardless of your jurisdiction. Second violation will result in a permanent ban and report to Linden Lab for TOS violation.

Consent & Respect

  • Everything is consensual. If anyone fails to respect you, ask them directly to leave you alone. If they continue to harass you, please notify any SPS staff immediately.
  • If someone asks you to leave them alone, stop all contact immediately. No matter who is right or wrong in the situation, the most important rule is consent.
  • Being silly is fine, griefing is not. Respect others.

Conduct

  • Do not violate Linden Lab's Terms of Service or any United States law.
  • Excessive noise (screaming, music, repetitive sounds) either via voice, gesture, or attached object will result in a warning and possible ban.

Everything is fine. Nobody is happy. But everything is fine.

The S.A.P. Plant (Super Adhesive Paste Production) has been operational since 1947, processing raw materials from the pine forest and other local resources into high-quality adhesive products. Coincidentally, this is the same year Jema Mine was sealed following an incident on Dead Horse Drop. The mine was reopened in 2024 following "routine geological surveys." No incidents have been reported since the 1947 closure. Records pertaining to the closure and the missing pony are currently unavailable.

The S.A.P. Plant name is a delightful pun—sap from our abundant pines goes into making the finest adhesive paste. Everything has a purpose at Summit Pines. Nothing goes to waste.
